April: Kara Ko

April: What are you plans for this summer both in relation to your dancing and personally?

Yay for summer! This summer, I will be focusing a lot on my personal growth and myself. I will back in Austin, TX on May 4th to be reunited with family, old friends, and my dance family. During my time back home, I do not have any set plans yet. I just hope to spend time with my family and friends. I am super excited to attend my middle sister’s graduation; she will be graduating from University of Texas at Austin! Since my time back home is somewhat limited, I cannot wait to enjoy every moment back home. I need to back in Phoenix on June 13th because I start working at the dance studio. My parents and I will be driving to Phoenix, which will be fun because I miss taking road trips with them. During the month of June and July, I hope to find some soul-searching. I am a little nervous because I feel like I will be lonely since school is out and I won’t have many friends to hang out with. During this time, I want to continue to keep myself busy with work, choreography, new hobbies, and making new friends. At the end of July, I am so EXCITED to be going to Mexico City with a former ASU dance graduate and a few of my really good dance friends. We are going to Mexico City to teach at an orphanage for approximately a week as well as tour the city. I am thankful that I get this opportunity and I cannot wait to be immersing with the culture. After Mexico, I head back to Phoenix for work and begin to get ready for school. My hope is to go back to Texas for about a week or two before the semester starts, but we shall see! Well, I think that’s my summer for ya. It’s pretty chill, but I hope for new adventures and new discoveries!
