What does your schedule look like for next year? What kind of classes (dance and academic) will you be taking? What are you looking forward to next year?
I have not started registering for classes for next year, but I know I will be taking Laban technique and dance history as they are required courses for junior dance majors. As a junior I will also be taking courses which are required for my pedagogy emphasis (an emphasis is basically an area we decide to focus more heavily on) which will most likely consist of pedagogy 2 and either ballet/modern/jazz pedagogy. Pedagogy 2 is a course which we go to schools in the Boston area and work with the children in their movement classes as well as choreograph work on them. The class specific pedagogy classes are for students to learn teaching techniques, how to plan a structured class, and create combinations. I am very excited for my junior year because I will have a lot more freedom in my schedule so that I focus on what I am most interested in!
