October: choose one class that you are taking this year and let us know what you are learning, what type of tests, assignments, projects, you are having, etc.
Hello everyone! One of my favorite classes that I am taking
this semester is Contemporary Ballet. I take this class on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 9:00-10:45AM. Yes, it is quite the early morning class but it
honestly wakes me up. For most part, it is like taking regular ballet class at
your studio or high school, however we do have midterms and final exams. For
example, our midterm consisted of three combinations (a tendu phase, a
pirouette phase, and a petite allegro phase). My professor randomly chooses our
groups, which included three dancers total. However the petite allegro
combination was a solo, so we had to perform alone. There was also a written
potion where we had to write down the ballet term and definition as my
professor demonstrated. For me, the hardest part was writing down the entire
tendu phase. I believe I wrote down two pages of that. Anyways, I really enjoy
this class because the dancers in there really push me to become better and
improve on my technique.
